Welcome to The Ship Hotel near Southwold

What could be better after a long coastal walk and a satisfying home-cooked dinner than a great night's sleep in a really comfortable bed, lulled to sleep by the sounds of the sea?

The Ship has eleven recently refurbished, comfortable bedrooms – seven in the inn itself and four in converted barns - all with their own en-suite facilities, and some with marsh and sea views (three are with separate adjoining rooms offering ideal family accommodation).

Some of the bedrooms are newly converted but all maintain the character of The Ship, featuring traditional furniture, including good old-fashioned iron bedsteads with fully sprung mattresses and feather pillows and duvets. In every room you'll also find tea and coffee facilities, televisions and Pecksniff toiletries. There are no phones in the bedrooms, but we do have good mobile signals (we won't let on if you want to pretend otherwise, though!)

The quintessentially English seaside town of Southwold, with its historic pier, is close by. It has beaches, rivers, a busy harbour, excellent shopping with interesting and individual shops and a character and charm that draws its visitors to return year after year. Southwold is the home of Adnams brewery and its famous beers, and its horse drawn dray can still be seen on the streets today. You can also enjoy a variety of boat trips from the Harbour.

Set on the Suffolk Heritage Coast, a short drive from Southwold, The Ship Inn is one of Suffolk best loved coastal hotels.
