The Two Gentlemen of Verona

“How Love can trifle with itself.”
Friendship and love clash when two best friends, Valentine & Proteus, fall in love with the same woman, Silvia, because "Love is blind." However, the Duke wants his daughter to marry the wealthy but foolish Thurio, so he banishes Valentine to Mantua and Proteus seizes his chance to woo Silvia himself.

Written sometime in the late 1580s, The Two Gentlemen of Verona is considered to be Shakespeare’s first play for the stage and makes its debut on our "Summer Shortened Shakespeare Tour".
